Terms & Conditions

Chapter 1: General Provisions

Article 1 (Purpose)

These terms and conditions are intended to stipulate the conditions and procedures for the use of internet services (hereinafter referred to as services) provided by the International Women's Peace Group (hereinafter referred to as IWPG) and other necessary matters.

Article 2 (Definition of Terms)

The definitions of terms used in these terms and conditions are as follows:

  • Member: A person who has registered as a member by providing personal information to IWPG, who is continuously provided with information from IWPG, and who can continue to use the services provided by IWPG.
  • User: Members and non-members who access the service and receive the services provided by IWPG in accordance with these terms and conditions.
  • ID: A combination of letters and numbers given by IWPG at the user's choice when signing a contract for user identification and service use.
  • Password: A combination of letters and numbers set by the user to protect the user's own confidentiality.
  • Service use: Using a terminal to access the IWPG homepage and use information provided by IWPG.
  • Use Agreement: A contract concluded between IWPG and users under these terms and conditions to receive IWPG services.

Article 3 (Effect and Change of Terms and Conditions)

1. These terms and conditions become effective by posting them on the service menu or by disclosing them in other ways.
2. IWPG may change these terms and conditions if there is a reasonable reason, and if the terms and conditions are changed, the change will be disclosed at least 7 days in advance.
3. If the member does not agree to the changed terms and conditions, he or she can stop using the service and terminate the use contract.
4. Continued use of the service after the effective date of the terms and conditions is regarded as the member's consent to the changes to the terms and conditions.

Article 4 (Rules Outside the Terms and Conditions)

If matters not specified in these terms and conditions are stipulated in the relevant laws and regulations, they shall be followed, and if not, they may be applied according to the purpose of the terms and conditions for each service.

Chapter 2: Service Use Agreement

Article 5 (Establishment of Use Agreement)

1. The use agreement is established by IWPG's ID approval for the requester's ID application.
2. When a user applies for an ID pursuant to the provisions of Paragraph 1, they must apply through the ID application service for the items required for user management of IWPG.
3. It is deemed that the user has agreed to this contract of use by clicking the consent button after the registration process.

Article 6 (Application for Service Use)

1. Anyone who wants to use the service by registering as a member must provide all information (name, contact information, etc.) requested by IWPG.
2. All members must be able to sign up for membership under their real name. Users who have not registered cannot claim any rights.
3. All IDs of members who apply for use in violation of related laws, such as stealing the name of another person, are deleted, and they may be punished according to related laws.

Article 7 (Reservation and Rejection of Use Agreement Approval)

1. IWPG may withhold the approval of the use agreement in the following cases:
- When there is no space in the servers or technical difficulties.
- When it is determined that it is necessary for the efficient operation of the service.
2. IWPG may refuse to approve the application for use agreement in cases of false registration or other improper applications.

Chapter 3: Use of Service

Article 8 (Service Hours)

Service hours are 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, unless maintenance or technical difficulties arise. Exceptions may occur as announced by IWPG.

Article 9 (Termination of Use Agreement and Restriction of Service Use)

Members must apply online to terminate their use agreement. IWPG may terminate the agreement or restrict services without prior notice in cases of policy violations.

Article 10 (Restrictions on Deletion of Posts)

IWPG may delete user posts that violate policies or laws without prior notice. Members are advised to comply with all content guidelines.

Chapter 4: Obligations

Article 12 (IWPG's Obligations)

IWPG will endeavor to provide stable services and protect member information as stipulated in relevant laws.

Chapter 5: Copyright and Disclaimer

Article 16 (Right to Published Materials)

The rights and responsibilities for posted materials rest with the publisher. IWPG may use materials for non-profit purposes with appropriate attribution.

Terms of Service

Personal Information Policy of the International Women’s Peace Group

The International Women's Peace Group (hereinafter referred to as “IWPG”) complies with the Personal Information Protection Act and any subordinate statutes for the freedom and protection of the principals of information. According to Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act, IWPG informs members (hereinafter also referred to as “users”) of the purpose and method of collecting and using personal information (hereinafter also referred to as “information”) provided by members and announces the following policies to respond and deal with various related issues. This policy applies to all websites owned and run by IWPG.

1. Personal information items to be collected, the purpose and method of collection, and its retention, storage, and duration of use

IWPG collects the following personal information:

  • Membership application through the website
  • Purpose: member identification, notification of services, and CS
  • Mandatory items: ID, password, name, date of birth, gender, phone number, email
  • Optional items: country of residence, district of residence, occupation, title, branch, reason for application
  • Duration: (mandatory items) until member withdrawal, (optional) until consent withdrawal
  • Donation application
  • Purpose: confirmation of donation consent, management of member information
  • Personal information items: name, phone number, email, address, member classification
  • Duration: 5 years after termination of donation

2) Method of information collection: Website, paper form, donation application, event application, collection through expanded platforms such as social media or campaigns, fax, phone

2. Procedure and method of information destruction

IWPG immediately destroys personal information when it is no longer needed, such as when the information retention period has passed or the purpose of informational collection has been accomplished.

  • Destruction procedure
  • Information is transferred to a separate DB or filing cabinet for temporary storage and later destroyed.
  • Stored information is not used for purposes other than preservation unless required by law.

Destruction method: File records are deleted using a technical method that cannot reproduce the data, and paper records are shredded or incinerated.

3. Provision of personal information

IWPG only collects and uses members’ personal information within the range of consent and does not provide personal information to outside sources without members’ consent except in the following cases:

  • When members consent in advance
  • When essential to the enforcement of the service contract
  • When required by law for investigation purposes
  • To take legal action against harmful actions violating IWPG policies

4. Consignment of collected personal information

IWPG entrusts external entities to operate services such as membership fee payments and service stabilization.

  • Entity: NICE Payments Co., Ltd.
  • Purpose: approval and settlement of membership fee payments
  • Provided information: account details, payment amount, name, contact information

5. Rights of users and legal representatives

Members may view, modify, or delete their personal information at any time by contacting the Personal Information Manager or accessing the website.

6. Measures to ensure the safety of personal information

IWPG employs technical and administrative measures to ensure the safety of personal information, including:

  • Encryption of sensitive information
  • Restriction of access to personal information
  • Technical measures against hacking

Privacy Policy
▉ Information on IWPG’s overseas transfer of personal information

IWPG transfers collected personal information overseas as follows as an essential part of its services. If you do not consent to the transfer, use of the service may be restricted.

■ Personal information items that are transferred: All data collected by IWPG, including information such as name, login ID, password, country of residence, region of residence, mobile phone number, email, occupation, position, branch of membership, motivation for membership, access log records, service use records, etc.

■ Country to which the personal information is transferred: 22 Mabang-ro 4-gil Seocho-gu Seoul, Republic of Korea

■ Date and method of the transfer: transmitted via network during service usage

■ Usage of the information: notifying members of IWPG’s service and events, providing updates on IWPG news, sending newsletters, improving and maintaining operations, and conducting research analytics.

■ Duration of information retention and usage: until membership withdrawal (apart from cases in which personal information must be preserved according to the relevant law)

■ Name of entity to which the information is transferred: International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG)

■ Contact information of information manager: iwpg@iwpg.org

■ An individual may apply for dispute resolution or consultation: To the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee, the Korea Internet & Security Agency's Personal Information Infringement Report Center, etc. to receive relief from damage caused by personal information infringement.

■ Exceptions: IWPG may also share personal information when the member consents or when IWPG is legally obliged to disclose the information without any rationale to object.
